"I think my father can be nice like yours. He just doesn't know how," Kagami shrugged a shoulder. She liked how comfortable Arwen made her, even talking about difficult things. And she had a nice, cheerful laugh that brightened her spirits a bit. "Oh, no, I am not into ecchi," she made a face. "I forgot hentai has a meaning here, too. In Japan, it means 'pervert', not 'porn'. That's 'ecchi'."
Foreigners often thought girls and boys like her were perverts because of the way they dressed and acted. They just didn't understand such things, just like she didn't understand many American fads. "Confused? About what?" Kagami asked in her falsely deepened voice, tilting her head with curiosity. "Yes, let's go inside."
She bounded ahead of Arwen and held he door open for her in a very gentlemanly way.

Arwen felt sorry for her when seen the fact that her roommate was shrugging her shoulders. “Well, you need to just work on showing him what he could do. All fathers want to be there for their children. Sometimes they just need a little push in the right direction.” She knew that all parents wanted was to protect their children. She blushed, even more, when they when they started to talk about ‘porn’. She was not expecting that.
Arwen took off running and heading towards the door and entering when Kagami opened it. “Mahalo,” Arwen then curtsy once entered the room. “Yes, the words have different meanings here. Just make sure if talking to someone else happens. Not sure they be as easy going as me. I just little embarrassed since did not realize the different terms. It proves that we need that book of words and translations.”
Arwen rubbed her face thinking about everything and smiled. “Sorry I am so excited to talk with you. What meant to say is that everyone is a little crazy. We are all little confused at times.” She did not want Kagami to worry.

"I am sorry to embarrass you. I will try not to from now on," Kagami apologized and fell into step beside Arwen in the hall. "Mahalo is thank you? I will be sure to be more careful what I say to other people. Lucky for me you are easy going."
It did show how a book would be beneficial. There were many other terms that meant two different things in Japan and America. Such as 'otaku'. In America, anime fans were proud to call themselves otaku. In Japan, it was more of an insult. "Oh. Okay. Case in point, right?" Kagami chuckled. She walked along, checking everything out as they passed. This place was huge. She was definitely going to get lost, she just knew it.
Kagami tried to commit the directions to memory, finding a landmark to recall here and there. it was very difficult because much of the halls looked identical. "Was it hard for you to find your way at first?" she asked Arwen, wondering if it was like that for everyone.

“It okay that you embarrassed me. We are friends now right. If so that means that this will not be the last time you do it.” Arwen smiled thinking about how it would feel to actually have a best friend. “Yes, Mahalo does me thank you. I am easy going and not sure that others would care. The truth though is more did not think that at my age would be talking about things like sex and porn. Really we are young not suppose to think on that.”
Arwen went to work on holding her books tighter towards her chest. They should be getting bigger at any time now. Plus there were a few boys and girls that were cute and thought about dating. The other part of dating was still away though. She was just wanting to maybe hold hands with them as walked down the halls. “Yes, we are proving our cases today.”
Arwen smiled thinking about her first time where and how the halls did look identical. “The first couple of days were harder. I will have to work on showing you things I made to help you learn it.” She was a bookworm so of course she took a book and worked on writing it all down. Even made little notes about how the different halls had different pictures. “This place is huge compared to any other place ever been.”

"We are expected to be mature younger in Japan. But with the mature responsibilities will come the mature thoughts. Did you know we start magic school at seven years old?" Kagami said, fidgeting with the strap of her satchel. "We fly there every day until we are eleven, then we live there like you do here."
Kagami had a small bosom, made even flatter with a binder. Honestly, she could probably go without and wear loose clothing, instead, but she preferred that her chest feel flat, not just appear that way. Plus, the uniforms weren't loose enough for that, anyway. She noticed Arwen hugging her books and wondered what she was thinking about to make her do that. Or was it what they were talking about that made her do that?
"I would appreciate that. Telling the halls apart from one another is not easy," she said, glancing around. "Someone needs to make a map."

Arwen was thinking about that shocked. “Sorry I did not know all of that at all. I guess that we can work on learning more about the schools in different places.” She has seen her playing with the strap on her satchel little confused on it all. “How does that really work. I mean how do you get to learn everything and not spend time in school and do the extra things.”
Arwen looked at Kagami thinking on everything that happened. She had seen that her roommate was doing everything strangely. The witch worked on lowering her books since looked at everything that was going on. She was also working on making a note to remember to give her the notes. “I do not have a map but it is a book. And got all my notes about everything that is here. We could most likely if had the skills turn it into a map.”

"We don't get to do all the extra things until we live there. From seven to ten years, we learn mostly basic spells. And we also have language and math classes in those years, because it's important to learn those things for reading, spell pronunciation, and potion making, among other things," she explained. Most Japanese students only learned to read enough English to get passing grades and couldn't speak it. Kagami had an advantage and motivation to learn to speak it, with an American father.
"We should do that. Make a map. Do you know any artists that can help?" Kagami asked. "We can use your notes to help make landmarks."

Arwen heard that and nods knowing that made a lot more sense now on everything that she was saying the first few years they learned the basics then after that they were going to get all the special classes. “Well, I did not know about the spell part. The other makes lots of sense. I went to grade school for the other part. It was interesting since most of them only see during the summer now since they are all no-maj.” Arwen actually giggled. “You were learning all the things your first years that I really hate now. Give me book work to do any day.”
The witch actually stood there trying to think about all of the different people there were that could have worked on drawing the map. She knew a few but was not really sure if they would have been interested in doing it since busy enough as it was. “Well, I not sure of any artist that can help for sure. There are a few though that we could work on asking to see if they would.” She went to look at some of the painting that was hanging the walls. “The truth also is that you actually met them this morning at breakfast and one lives in the same house as us. It would be Gabe and Becca.”

Kagami nodded as Arwen spoke, indicating she followed what she was saying but didn't really have anything to add. "Ah. You are a... what is it?" she furrowed her brow, trying to work out the term. "Book worm?" Her finger wriggled like a worm in the air as she spoke. She liked reading, too, except she enjoyed manga rather than regular books.
"Honto ni?" she said with surprise. "Really? They are artists? How lucky it is I have met them. Maybe I will ask if they will help with a map. I learn better if I have pictures, you see."

Arwen kept walking and stopped outside of the classroom that they would be going for. “Yes, I am what you call a bookworm.” She made the same movement to show Kagami that she stating the same thing. “Other than when the house elf will let me sit in the kitchen. My favorite room in the whole school is the library. There never a time when not able to find what I am looking for. There are even what many would call No-maj authors.”
Arwen went to work on actually thinking about everything that was happening. “Well, I believe they can drawl. I know the other day they were talking about drawing and music.” She did know they were wanting to make that saying. She understood that some people were visual learners. “That is fine if you learn that way. If they are not able to draw a map with pictures we could get a camera. Then take them and add it to what I have and so you can just flip the pages and follow almost like a scrapbook.

"Photos! Yes!" Kagami seemed excited by that idea. "That would be even better. A guide book. Like for a video game. With pictures and descriptions. And a map to go with it. I think we are on to something, here. Probably I'm not the only one needing this kind of thing."
She could imagine flipping through a book with maps, images, and text descriptions of the halls. Perhaps even short descriptions of the classes and teachers. Maybe some hints on how to win the teachers' favors or float under their radar if they're particularly difficult instructors. It could be updated every year as faculty and classes changed. It would take a lot of work and probably wouldn't be done for quite some time, but maybe it could be something handed out to new students every year.

Arwen though on everything that happen and smiled thinking about everything that happen. “If it will help will work on talking to dad tonight. I am sure he will send me camera to take pictures. Then we can make this awsome for you. Then maybe if do well could see about making some for others and selling them. Most colleges and other schools have them where you can buy.” She was happy to have a friend that wants to help with it all. Plus this was a fun thing to do together.
“If you stick with me during the year, I will work on helping show you around even more then just this book. Maybe we can even work on doing study sessions.” She knew that she was going to work on trying to spend more time with friends when not doing extra circulars. “I mean the Academic Olympic are coming soon. I was chose to be the Pukwudgie choice this year. If need anything let me know and I will work on making sure to help you.”

"My first day and I have a business plan. My mother would be proud," Kagami chuckled. Arwen would show her more than what would be in the book? Like secrets and shortcuts? That could be fun. "Academic Olympics?" she asked, picturing students on parallel bars while answering test questions.
Knowing what little she knew about Arwen, she could actually picture the girl being exceptional at such a thing. "This is where we go for the first class?" she asked, motioning toward the door through which other students were filing. The door was propped open, so she couldn't hold it open for her friend. Instead, she extended an arm toward the door, grinned from ear to ear, and said, "Ladies first."

Arwen pulled her bag closer on her shoulder thinking about what was being said. “Well, it not really a great business plan yet. If you wanted that we could for sure get one wrote up. My mother would be proud that making a great friend. Not just one that met from surfing and because love the same talents. Oh yes, the Academic Olympics is where each house has one person picked and we all do a competition. Not sure who the others though know I one of the youngest in history I think to do it. Might be wrong on the youngest part.”
Arwen giggled as seen Kagami extending her arm to let her go first. “This is our first class yes. It best if sit towards the middle of the room since will actually learn better. There will be other classes that are a lot more fun.” She bows to her lightly before smiling. “Mahalo Kagami. Now let the studies begin.”
