Becca closed the door as quietly as possible then leaned back against it, trying to contain a happy squeal. She stayed there for a moment, gathering her thoughts and composing herself. If there was a prefect waiting for her, she'd probably need to pretend she wasn't a giddy little school girl with a ridiculous amount of energy. Wasn't sex supposed to make people sleepy, with the oxytocin and whatnot? Why did she feel like she'd just drank ten shots of espresso?
Managing, finally, to temper her grin and put on a semi-serious scowl, she tiptoed into the living room. If she was busted, her excuse was going to be that she lost track of time in the library... or something. Miss Warthex probably wouldn't know whether she was there or not. Since it was past curfew, all of the lamps were out. The only source of light was the softly crackling fire in the hearth. Silhouetted by the warm glow was a figure. Sitting. Waiting. Becca squinted in the dim light, her heart rising into her throat.
"Lucco?" she stage whispered, relief washing over her.

Lucco waited, the room lit by only the dim glow from the hearth of the fireplace. He didn't like worrying about her but now that Gabriel was in the picture - now that things with her and a guy could actually be serious - he couldn't help but do so. Maybe he was preparing for early parenthood that he just didn't know was coming. Either way, it just didn't feel right going to bed.
When she finally came creeping in, it was obvious that they had been up to something. While it wasn't his place to pry and he only cared that she was back without getting into trouble, Lucco still had to give her a little hell. "Busted," he smirked. "Fortunate that I told Peters that I'd seen you walk back to your room fifteen minutes ago so he would leave for his rounds, huh?"

"Very fortunate," she sighed, sinking into a comfy chair nearby. "Thank you. I owe you. Big time."
Now that she was sitting and the chemicals were fading away, she realized she was actually sore. Her thighs, her calves, her butt, her lower back. But mostly 'down there'. Becca shifted in the seat, crossing her legs. Was it written all over her face? If so, could he even see her face? Considering she was facing the fireplace, probably so, despite being a little ways away from it. "And thank you for waiting up for me," she said sincerely. "I'm sorry if I made you worry. Everything's fine and dandy."

"I figured after all that stretching and physical activity, better to make sure you made it back here safely. Wouldn't do to have you out in the halls, curled up or unable to move because of a cramp or something," Lucco said casually, referring to the evening's game. After that game, there had probably been more than just a walk through the halls between her and Gabriel but that...that was just not something he wanted to consider. That was like thinking of Bastian and Athe...Nope, not going anywhere NEAR that path.

Becca's face flushed tremendously, and she wasn't close enough to the fire for it to be caused by the heat. He could tell. She knew it. There might as well have been 'NOT A VIRGIN' stamped in big red letters on her forehead. The game of Twister was the furthest thing from her mind. In fact, suddenly the only thing filling her mind was Gabe's face as he... She swallowed with some difficulty. How was she supposed to respond?
"I'm not that sore," she said, deciding denying it would be pointless and only make her look even guiltier. "Is it really that obvious?"

"Is what obvious?" Lucco asked, looking to her from where his eyes had been looking into the fire. To his pure shock, she was completely red from the roots of her hair down, a blush so deep that he would never have expected from her. Looking back, he couldn't remember if he had ever seen her blush. Maybe a bit red from exertion but...
"Oh my god," he said, staring at her as all the pieces fit together. The ones he had been pushing off to the side and trying to ignore were all right in front of him now. The super happy voice, the smile that wouldn't go away, and now a blush. "I was talking about the game but you..." Lucco cut off, his eyes getting bigger. "You aren't, are you?" He was speechless. It was not a feeling he could remember having recently but it was suddenly upon him and he wasn't quite certain how to react. Was this the conversation girl-friends and guy-friends have? Did she just want him to shut up and go to bed? Did she want to talk about it?
Honestly, he wasn't certain how many details he could handle if she did. He still had to go to class every day with Gabriel and it might be hard to look him in the eyes if he knew...Please, please don't want to talk too much about it, Lucco thought hopefully.

Becca wanted to die. Right there in the chair. Death by embarrassment. So, he hadn't known. Of course he was talking about the game. The stupid game. Why hadn't she realized that? Now she was mentally kicking herself as she sank into the chair, wishing it would swallow her whole. "No," she meeped, covering her face with both hands. "I'm not."
She did not want to talk about it, not yet. She still hadn't truly processed everything. If he had questions, Becca might answer, without going into much detail. Her hope was that he didn't have questions. Maybe simply knowing that it had happened would be enough information. "Not that I think I really need to say this, but please don't tell anyone," she said, peeking through her fingers at him.

"Honestly Becca, I don't really want to tell anyone we even had this conversation. I would really like to avoid Meridian knowing that I know but since you two really are a couple now, I doubt that's an option." Lucco expressed, wondering how he could face his classmate once Gabriel learned. Was he going to think Lucco had pried into their personal life? Was he going to think that he had done this because he was jealous?
These were not guy thoughts! It was all-girl...an influence from Becca and his sisters who raised him. Damn women infecting him with their girliness!
"On that note, I think I am going to go to bed...unless you need to talk or something." There was a reluctance in his tone. Lucco wouldn't bail on her if she didn't want him to - he owed her that much. But he was so hopeful that he could.

"I won't tell him you know if he doesn't ask," she said. It was the best she could offer. She wasn't going to lie to Gabe, but she wouldn't offer up the information for no reason. It wasn't like she blabbed, and Lucco hadn't asked. There had been some crossed wires and it just... came up.
"God, no," Becca shook her head feverishly. "I mean, I appreciate the offer, but I'm good."
Maybe if it hadn't just happened. Or if it had been horrendously nightmarish. But everything had been great. She was happy. Life was good. "Goodnight, Lucco," she said, deciding against wishing him sweet dreams. Becca would wait for him to disappear before going to her own dorm.

Lucco couldn't help but be relieved. "Oh thank God," he muttered, in regards to both of her responses. "Yeah, night Becca." Any other farewell seemed a bit awkward at this very moment in time so he was going to take this as a win and make a run for it while he still could. Before she had the chance to say anything else or, scarier, change her mind, he bolted up the stairs.
