After breakfast, Hyperion made his way through the dungeon's many hallways until he entered the main meeting room. All of the items he had purchased earlier were still on the table, thus he figured Harmonia hadn't been down there yet. He checked the drawer just in case and found it empty of a new list, having completed his tasks from the previous day he was at a loss as to what to do. He could sit quietly and wait for her to arrive, but Hyperion couldn't just sit still.
Instead, he looked through the bags of goodies again, curious as to what they were for. It was as if she was going to throw a party, but he didn't think there was anything to celebrate other than Halloween coming up, which had made her shopping list a little difficult to fulfill. All of the stores were pushing for Halloween goods, and very little in the way of everyday wares. He sighed, knowing he had gotten everything she had asked for, thus he took a seat at the table, waiting for her to show up.

Harmonia stepped into the dungeons for the first time that day, having not had time to check in between her discussion with both Headmaster Fontaine and Deputy Headmistress Pennybottom and breakfast with Abel. That seemed to have gone well, as difficult as it was for her to talk about Roxy's erratic behavior. She didn't want them to think she was crazy and send her off to a home for the criminally insane or something. Before walking into the meeting room, she made sure her hair was fully tucked behind her and her mask was secure. Now that she knew who Hyperion was, she was being more cautious of her own identity. Little did she know, it was too little, too late.
"Good morning, Hyperion," she said solemnly as she entered the room and went directly to the bags of birthday supplies. "Is everything I asked for here?"
It seemed like everything was there, but she wasn't really in the mood to dig through and examine every single little thing.

"Yes, Harmonia," he responded. "I just finished double checking against your list." His reply was flat, monotone with no trace of his Bostonian accent. He'd wait for the right moment to call her out but now wasn't that time. He would play along until he knew what else she had use for him. He somewhat hoped that it would throw her off enough to give him some wiggle room. Then again it was Eris he was talking about, and she wasn't exactly the type to give wiggle room. As her alter ego, she ruled with an iron fist, he just wanted it to loosen her grip a bit.

"Thanks," she said curtly, taking the bags one by one and stuffing them into her expanded backpack. Abel was going to have a very special birthday. At least that was something she could be happy about and look forward to. Harmonia turned to face Hyperion. Gideon Smith. Her stomach turned. If he hadn't dumped Roxy, she wouldn't have hexed his broom. If she wouldn't have hexed his broom, Eris wouldn't have had that ammo in her arsenal and would have confronted Roxy, herself. They would have worked everything out, as usual. Her jaw tightened beneath the mask, the muscles in her neck visibly flexing.
"Today, I want you to get all the riddle books you can find in the library," she said authoritatively, without letting her emotions get in the way. He should be familiar with the next task. "Bring them here and help me find the most difficult ones."

"Yes, Eris," he said, figuring now was as good a time as any to get this over with. She could deny it as much as she wanted to, but he knew who she was, something none of them were supposed to know, with the exceptions of the Seniors knowing the initiates. He took a quill out from beneath his robes and wrote on his hand 'riddles' before replacing the quill inside of his robes.
"Is there anything else you want?" he asked, wondering what her reaction would be.

"No, that's a-" she stopped, eyes widening. It had taken her a second to realize he called her by name. Her real name. Eris was on him like white on rice, grasping the front of his robe where it clasped. "What the hell did you just call me?" she hissed, heart pounding. How did he know? How many of them knew? Would he want something in return for his silence? Well, perhaps her own silence would suffice. Maybe she'd take it a step further and throw in a threat.
"Listen up, addle-brained choir boy," Eris tightened her grip and leaned in close. "Keep your fucking mouth shut or else. I'd hate to see something bad happen to your precious little girlfriend."

Gideon didn't even flinch when she grabbed ahold of his cloak, keeping his back straight as he looked down at her. He smiled behind his mask, keeping his voice low, "Careful Eris or someone might think you are as crazy as your best friend making threats like that," he said. "You clearly know who I am now, so I think we can come to the agreement that we won't be revealing either of our identities or face being demasked by our brethren. You've obviously worked hard as our leader, I'd hate to see you lose that." His voice was genuine as he expressed that. Eris's leadership was stronger than in prior years.
"I'll do as you ask as far as gathering things for the tasks and shoring up the dungeons as you've asked me to do, but you can do your own shopping from now on," he said. "I don't want to know your personal preferences like whatever party that stuff is meant for," he motioned to the bags on the table. "Is that agreeable?"

Eris bristled, quickly retracting her hand. "She's not my best friend, thanks to you," she said, crossing her arms. "And I don't give a rat's ass if everyone thinks I'm crazy."
She considered his proposal, seething. "That's not how this works, Gideon. You don't tell anyone my identity, I won't tell anyone yours. That makes us even," Eris drummed her fingers on her own upper arm impatiently. "Unless you've got some other leverage that I'm not aware of, you'll serve your punishment as I see fit."
Who was he to try to renegotiate his sentence? He had nothing on her, aside from knowing her identity. And she dared him to try to threaten harm upon Abel. Eris laughed inwardly at the thought. He could threaten Roxy until he was blue in the face, but it would have little effect. She was almost constantly with faculty and couldn't be touched.

"Don't blame me for your own problems," he said. "I'm sure your boyfriend would appreciate a sane girlfriend unless Abel's into that kind of thing, which I doubt given his family."
He crossed his arms over his chest, "I've been serving my sentence with no complaint, even when I had to deliver the rose to Roxy. And don't try to bullshit me that it was for Mrs. Stewbone, I'm not so gone in the head to figure that out. I just don't want to be involved in whatever personal shopping you have had me doing. I don't need to know your candy preference or the type of paper you like to write on or whatever you are throwing a party for, as I highly doubt it's for the initiates."
"I'll happily clean the dungeons, fixing walls and old secret passages, I'll happily fetch the books you asked for and assist you in finding the hardest riddles to test the initiates," he said. "All done without bitching or moaning to atone for what I did, or in this case, didn't do," he said.

Eris rolled her eyes, which would be visible through the holes in her mask. "Abel knows me better than that. So, I repeat, I couldn't care less if people think I'm crazy," she said, sighing. "The calligraphy pens and paper were for the missives to the initiates, thank you very much."
A humorless laugh passed her lips. "Such a clever boy. You figured out the rose was for Roxy. Want a cookie?" Eris said with mock sweetness. "That's also how I found out who you are. Man, to have been a fly on that wall. A smarter person would have found someone else to play delivery boy."
She shook her head, rolling her eyes again. "Fine. Whatever. I don't have any more 'personal' shopping to do, anyway," Eris smirked dangerously behind the mask. "I'll be sure to only assign society-related tasks to you from now on."
And, boy, what a doozy she had planned for him at the meeting.

He uncrossed his arms, letting them fall to his sides, "You know, I had high hopes that you would be a better leader than what we've had in the past," he said, "And for the most part I was right about you. You rule with an iron fist, but don't forget there are actual people beneath these masks, regardless of whether you like them or not."
He sighed, "I'll be off to the library then. I'll return within the hour, Harmonia." He bowed slightly to her and turned on his heel and disappeared behind a corner, leaving Eris alone. Maybe she'd take his words to heart, though he doubted it. She was far too smug, he felt, which meant there was more shit to come his way. He'd handle it the best he could, but knowing her, it would be like taking a sucker punch.

"Take your own damn advice, you self-centered, hypocritical bundimun," she muttered as he passed by. He had no idea what she was going through. Eris was human under her mask, too, and she was having a tremendously bad week in a particularly unpleasant year. Not that he cared. All he thought of the matter was that he held absolutely no blame. Then there was the matter of Darcy, the initiate he had let down. That whole situation was messed up, but he only seemed concerned about his own mask. He'd chosen a piece of ass over the society and the safety of an innocent little girl. Even Eris wasn't that selfish.
When she expressed her intention of failing the girl, he said nothing. The least she would have done in his situation was suggest giving the girl a mulligan. The most she'd have done was offer her own mask in sacrifice to save the girl. Gideon wasn't even grateful that she didn't immediately demask him, as she was supposed to do. She'd given him a second chance. Did he appreciate it? Did he even care? Eris had a good mind to change her mind. She wasn't the selfish one. He was.
Once he was gone, she pulled her wand out and cast an imperturbable charm on the door. Eris then proceeded to scream at the top of her lungs before collapsing into a chair with her face buried in her hands.
